THE SMALL PRINT · IN PLAIN WORDS

PRIVACY

The short version: the store asks for as little as it can get away with, and it never prints a name next to a pick.

WHAT'S ON YOUR RENTAL CARD

A rental card holds your email address and password, or whichever sign-in you used — Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple. Beyond that, only what you choose to file:

  • a handle and a town, if you put a name tag on the counter
  • your ballot picks, one per category
  • your Mount Rushgore, four films
  • films you've asked the hosts to cover
  • episodes you've loved

That's the whole file. No full name, phone number or address is asked for anywhere in the store.

WHAT OTHER FANS SEE

Your handle, when the counter prints it on a wall or a roll call. Your town stays between you and management — other fans only ever see a tally. Your ballot picks and your four are never listed beside your name.

WHAT THE PUBLIC WALLS SHOW

The Honor Roll shows the films in front and how many ballots picked them. The Community Mount Rushgore shows which films the fans on file chose and the share of them who chose each one. Counts and films only — never who voted for what. The wall at the top of Members Only is built from the same two totals.

HOW THE STORE COUNTS VISITORS

The site records visits, page views and two actions — creating an account and filing a ballot — so management can tell whether anyone is finding the store. Those counts are kept against a user ID rather than an email address, and they are cleared after about two months.

CHANGING YOUR MIND

A ballot and a Mount Rushgore can be changed or cleared whenever you like from Members Only. To have your card and everything filed under it taken off the books, write to management on the Contact page.
